2019 Fenian Pinot Gris – 14.8%
SILVER MEDAL 2020 REAL REVIEW
Clear straw with the most subtle hint of copper at it’s heart. Violet and pear aromas lifted by ethereal floral notes. A pulsating palate forges through with tight acid despite the vintage heat that managed to get these grapes super ripe. At nearly 15% alcohol this is a beast. Its power will grow with time as will its breadth. The palate has hints of river stone flint and the mouthfeel is gentle and delicate. Lovely balance, a display of winemakers genius.
A perfect accompaniment to white meat and richer dishes such as pate and salumi. Certainly a food wine. Will get big quickly.
