Partners Ryan ‘Don’ Donnelly and Cristina ‘Losti’ Piumatti have teamed up to produce this beautiful wine, the first of many to come!
Inspired by Cristina’s Italian heritage and both of their winemaking experiences in Piedmont, Cristina and Ryan jumped at the opportunity to produce a Mornington Peninsula Dolcetto which is so rarely planted here.
Dolcetto is an Italian grape variety, originating in Piedmont, where it typically produces a rich, dark and tannic red wine.
However, the cool climate of the Mornington Peninsula has resulted in a much more elegant style of Dolcetto, with a bright, fruit forward nose, a palate of raspberry, cherry, plum and notes of spice, with great length and silky tannins.
The 1stJune will be the official release party for Don Losti Dolcetto at Fenian Wines, where you can come for a taste, a glass or a bottle! There will be Italian cheese platters available to be enjoyed with the Dolcetto, or anything else from the Fenian Wines range too.
This wine is very limited, so will not be on the regular tasting lineup, but still purchasable at Fenian Wines in the future.
